I’ve picked the new plugins that look the most interesting this month, keeping the focus on what each one actually brings to a session without turning every section into a spec sheet.

Minimal Audio Lucid
The first new plugin from August to start with is Lucid, which looks like Minimal Audio trying to make granular processing feel more musical and less chaotic. Its big idea is grain scale-locking, which automatically keeps every grain in key, while timeline sync keeps stretching, freezing, and playback locked to the project tempo.
That combination really appeals to me because granular effects can get messy fast. Add per-grain processing, deep modulation, harmonic tools, and 350+ presets, and Lucid seems built for everything from subtle layering to complete audio transformation without losing the musical foundation.
Mastering The Mix MIXVAULT
MIXVAULT takes a very different approach to EQ, and I like how visual the whole concept is. Instead of dragging conventional EQ nodes around a graph, you pull frequencies closer to boost them and push them away to reduce them, while this new plugin keeps every move level-matched so louder does not automatically sound “better.”
It also analyzes the source and creates Smart Presets based on the track type and genre, with dedicated Broad, Balanced, Detailed, and Bass resolutions. For me, the interesting part is the mix of guidance and transparency, especially since it can work on individual tracks, buses, or the full master.
Softube Reference 1998 Equalizer
Reference 1998 Equalizer is Softube’s take on a modern-classic passive tube EQ architecture, built around four parallel passive bands feeding a high-headroom tube stage. This is clearly not a surgical problem-solving EQ; the whole point is broad, musical shaping with warmth, saturation, and plenty of color.
I especially like the emphasis on the shelving filters, which can move from wide and smooth into much more colorful curves for shaping a whole mix. Softube also made it Console 1 ready and compatible with its larger Equalizers environment, so the vintage concept still gets a very modern workflow.

Pulsar Modular P252 MDN Diode
P252 MDN Diode brings back the sound of a rare 1968 Neve 2252 germanium diode-bridge compressor, developed with mix engineer Marc Daniel Nelson. I like that Pulsar Modular kept the vintage attitude but added practical controls such as Drive, Heft, sidechain filtering, wet/dry mix, and oversampling, so it can move from punchy control into much more aggressive color.
United Plugins / JMG Sound Continuum
Continuum is a dual-engine delay that mixes Tape, BBD, and Digital characters with a much more modern spatial workflow. The fun part for me is the cross-feed network, which lets the two delays feed each other and blur into reverb-like spaces, while stereo modes, groove controls, modulation, and filtering push it far beyond a basic echo plugin.
Universal Audio UAD EMT 140
The UAD EMT 140 is finally available natively, bringing Universal Audio’s model of three original EMT plate units to sessions without requiring Apollo hardware. I’ve always liked the simplicity of plate reverb, and this one keeps that classic warm, glossy character while adding useful extras like Balance, Width, modulation, damping, and filtering for more control over vocals, drums, and strings.
W.A. Production Make Me Scream 2
Make Me Scream 2 is unapologetically built for distortion, using a two-stage design where a tube-style preamp drives a transient-following saturation engine. Version 2 expands the palette with six distortion types, six timbre modes, filtering, up to +40 dB of boost, and a larger preset library, so it looks just as comfortable adding light grit as completely destroying a sound.
fedDSP RAIJU
RAIJU is a zero-latency saturator built around a focused overdrive stage, with Modern and Vintage modes for either tighter aggression or a fuller, more classic grind.
I like that fedDSP did not lock it into guitar duty either, because the filters, parallel blend, limiter, and low-CPU design make this August new plugin just as easy to imagine on bass, drums, vocals, or synths that need more bite.

Animator turns spatial movement into part of the effects engine, letting a sound move through 3D space while its position controls processing like filtering, gain, and Doppler-style delay. That is a clever idea to me because one trajectory can create a whole chain of coordinated changes, with support for immersive formats up to 9.1.6 and drawable movement paths for more complex motion.
Replicat Audio KingKrusher
KingKrusher starts with bitcrushing but quickly turns into something much bigger, with eight crushing algorithms, 18+ effects, more than a dozen LFOs, and a drag-and-drop routing system. I especially like the frequency-split mode, which can destroy the lows while leaving highs or vocals cleaner, and the huge modulation setup makes this look less like a simple crusher and more like a playground for deliberately wrecking audio.
Panorama Audio Labs Panoramic
Panoramic is a mastering-focused stereo processor built to add width and energy without leaning on the usual phase or delay tricks that can collapse in mono. The combination of Width, Density, Character, and Air interests me most, because it shapes the side signal through level control, compression, saturation, and excitation while protecting the center image and mono compatibility.
Rast Sound Cusp
Cusp gives the attack and sustain completely separate treatment, then adds Edge, Iron, and Tape drive characters that can be aimed at the hit, the tail, or both. I like that extra layer of control because it turns a basic transient-shaping job into something more creative, especially with Stereo, Mid, and Side modes for drums, bass, vocals, loops, or even bus processing.
