2. Titanium 3 Basstard

More Info

A free sample of the Titanium Suite 3’s Titanium Basstard, which has six different Acqua plugins and rhymes with Low-End, is available (5 plus one FREE). The bass frequency monster known as Basstard was created by directly modifying the entire equalization module (Titanium 3 EQ tube passive Equalizer).

Titanium 3 Basstard offers a single band of focused low-frequency equalization based on the traditional Pultec Equalizer. You can select the frequency (20, 30, 60, or 100 Hz) on which you will manipulate the Low-End using the “Low Frequency” knob, and you can boost or attenuate the level of the selected frequency and its surrounding frequencies using the “Boost & Atten” knobs, respectively. Basstard has a “Pre” button that, when pressed, provides a little bit more harmonic character and tone.

Key Features:

  • Boost and Attenuate Control Parameters:
Acustica Titanium 3 Basstard has revolutionized bass guitar tone with its intuitive yet powerful Boost and Attenuate control parameters. The former allows players to amplify specific frequencies within a particular frequency range, while the latter yields a decrease in volume at those same frequencies. This combination of controls opens up exciting possibilities for artists to craft dynamic, colorful sounds for their music.
  • 3-band Compressor:
This advanced feature allows you to dial in specific frequency ranges and process each one individually, giving you greater control over your final sound. By splitting the signal into three frequency bands, you can compress the low-end with heavier compression settings while keeping the highs clean and crisp. This mix-ready compressor provides users with powerful tools to create the perfect balance of bass and punch without losing any sonic detail or clarity.

Compatibility:

It is compatible with Windows 10 or higher, macOS 10,14 or higher, runs on 32 and 64-bit, and comes in VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

The Titanium 3 Basstard is an excellent low-end plugin and the little brother of the PulTec EQ-emulating Titanium 3 All-Tube plugin. This plugin represents the first part of the PulTec EQ. Similar to the conventional PulTec EQ, you can also increase and decrease frequencies between 20 and 100 Hz.

3. Coral Baxter

More Info

Coral Baxter is based on Acoustica Audio’s recently released Coral2 channel strip plugin’s Baxandall equalization component.

Except for mid-side processing capabilities, the free version of the plugin has identical characteristics as the Baxandall EQ module included with Coral2. Like all other Acustica Audio products, Coral Baxter uses “dynamic impulse responses” to reproduce the same physical gear sound in software. Despite having a somewhat larger CPU hit, this produces high-quality processing and crystal-clear sound quality.

Only six knobs and a button for turning the preamp section on and off are on the interface. The volume gain, as well as the EQ curve’s cutoff and shelf, are controlled by the knobs. Coral Baxter performs admirably in practice, as one would anticipate from a product from Acustica Audio. Equalizers of the Baxandall type best handle the signal’s broad and subtle tone alterations. They are excellent for amplifying higher frequencies or adding extra bass to a signal without sounding artificial.

Key Features:

  • Preamp Section:
The Acustica Coral Baxter preamp section is undoubtedly a welcome addition to the different modules offered by Coral. It is a unique way to add a particular color to your overall mix. Of the three modules available (CORAL, TAPE, and AIR), CORAL provides the most balanced sound with stronger coherence between sounds. In contrast, TAPE accentuates the higher frequencies and provides an amplified low range. Finally, AIR functions similarly to an EQ, cranking up the lower mids for added power. With this much flexibility in choice and effect, any musician can now have more freedom in customizing their sound than ever!
  • Elliptical Filter:
One of its most impressive features lies in its Elliptical Filter, which has two independent platforms ideal for subtractive synthesis and analog-style filtering. Further, the filter has an envelope system to offer dynamic control and live manipulation. This makes it possible to shape a sound in almost real-time, allowing users to experiment with unique forms of synthesis as they craft their music.

Compatibility:

It is compatible with Windows 7 or higher and macOS 10.14  or higher, runs on 64-bit only, and comes in VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

Thanks to the Equalizer’s broad, sweeping curves and the dynamic section’s forgiving demeanor, it is a very transparent processor. To prevent the transients from being “chopped off,” the compressor, in particular, applies an ultra-soft clipping to the signal, and the gain reduction given to extensive dynamic areas is more delicate and progressive.

4. Coffee The Pun

More Info

Two 4-band equalizers with high-pass and low-pass filters are available in the Coffee EQ. There is a preamp section as well. In contrast to Model B, an American 3-band EQ with a Germanium preamp that has been reconfigured with four bands for greater versatility, Model A is a reproduction of a mixing desk EQ, claims Acustica.

No fewer than 31 preamps are available in the Coffee preamp plugin, which is organized into three groups: line, feed, and cust. The compressor has four dynamics processors adapted from an “all-discrete, transformer-coupled compressor/limiter” and a Vari-Mu tube compressor from the 1960s.

Three of the plug modes are modeled after the Vari-Mu, with Mode 1 simulating the original device’s operation and Modes 2 and “Ultra” providing updated versions. Acustica claims that Mode 3 is influenced by the other hardware component but has “additional features and more control.” Additionally, a limiter mode employs the limiter portion of Mode 3. All three processors have been combined in the Coffee Channel Strip plugin. The Coffee plugins are available in standard and zero-latency versions, just as all recent Acustica plugins.

Key Features:

  • Low Shelf Frequency Band:
Acustica Coffe The Pun is made for people who want to experience a more pleasurable and detailed-sounding audio experience. This is done via its low-shelf frequency band, resulting in a warmer sound that will take your headphone listening session to the next level. Great attention has been given to how vocals and instruments are prominent but not overbearing, and the low notes will pleasantly resonate and stand out.
  • Gain Boost:
With it, you can quickly refine and optimize your sounds with a simple gain boost feature. It is designed to give you an extra edge without oversaturating the sound or creating too much distortion so that your music remains clear yet still powerful. Furthermore, it is straightforward to use and set up, so you can tweak it quickly and ensure each track sounds optimal.

Compatibility:

It is compatible with Windows 10 or higher and macOS 10.14  or higher, runs 32 and 64-bit, and comes in VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

Coffee – The PUN is a FREE plugin that combines a passive bass equalizer, an active treble section, and a germanium-based preamp. This plugin is specifically developed to add the sound signature of germanium Class-A transistors to the game. The sound is warm and sweet, typical of many ‘Vintage-style’ circuits, even though the sampled unit is relatively new.
