2. Eventide SplitEQ
- Split EQ
The Structural Split divides the incoming audio signal into Transient and Tonal signals. It does this by looking for regions of relative stability in terms of time and frequency and considers those to be Tonal. The advantage of this approach is that, unlike compressors or other dynamics-based tools, it is not level-dependent. After all, transients can be loud or soft. It provides four controls for shaping the operation of the Structural Split: Source and Transient Separation controls determine how the Split identifies regions, and the Transient Decay and Smooth controls allow you to shape the transitions between Transient and Tonal regions.
- Spectrum Analyzer
A spectrum analyzer displays the spectrum of one or more signals in a graph. Split equalizer The analyzer is handy because it can display transients and Sound signals and plug-in inputs and outputs. Spectrum analyzer controls are located in the lower right corner insert. The first button turns the analyzer on and off. The second button appears Panel with additional settings. Finally, pre and post-button adjustments Analyzer routing.
- Band Editors
The Band Editors section is below the graph. It contains two control panels, EQ and Pan, accessed via the EQ and Pan buttons in the lower left corner. Similar to plots, the controls in the band editor also support link editing.
- The EQ Plot
On the EQ Plot, you can adjust the gain, frequency, and EQ for each band directly. Pressing and holding down on the band’s handles or near the band’s highlighted area allows users to move the band around. When adjusting the tone and transient settings, the band adjusts both Transient and Tonal. EQ can pull one of the pull tabs on the vacuum handle to split the handle. This allows for only partial suction on the split area.
- Control Scheme
SplitEQ uses two EQs in parallel. One is used for the transient signal and one for the tonal signal. You can use as many you want controls and curves on the plot, which gives us full control while mixing our sound. SplitEQ provides controls for adjusting signals and uses color coding to show us signals. Also, if you are using dual monitors on your computer, this would be a smooth thing, to follow both sides of the sounds that are coming to your ears.
