You will need a MIDI Keyboard with a pitch wheel or other pitch-controlling functions to record pitch bends in Logic Pro.
To record pitch bend, you can do it live while playing the notes or after they have been recorded/drawn in by simply moving the wheel when needed.

- Press R to start recording, ensuring the track you want to record is selected.

- Select the MIDI region to which you want to add the pitch bend, and open the piano roll.
- Press the show automation option.
- This will default to the note velocity automation. To change to Pitch Bend, select the Note Velocity on the left of the window to open the drop-down menu and select Pitch Bend.
- Now, left-click anywhere in the automation window to start automating.
- An automation line will now appear like normal automation in Logics main window; you can add automation points anywhere along this line to pitch bend up/down.
- To add curves to your pitch bend, select the Command-Click Tool drop-down menu at the top of the piano roll and select the Automation Curve Tool. You can add curves to your pitch bend automation for even more possibilities.
- To speed up workflow when adding pitch bend to your MIDI regions, you can use the Command-Click drop-down menu to select the Pencil Tool to add more automation points faster and the Eraser Tool to delete unwanted automation points quickly.
How to delete pitch bend in logic pro x
- Select the MIDI region to which you want to delete the pitch bend, and open the piano roll.
- Press the show automation option.
- This will default to the note velocity automation. To change to pitch bend, select the Note Velocity on the left of the window to open the drop-down menu and select Pitch Bend.
- Then left-click and drag, and you’ll see a box appear as your drag the mouse; use this box to highlight and select all or some of the automation points you’d like.
- Then, once you’ve selected the automation parts you’d like to delete, select the delete/backspace key on your macs keyboard.
