Top 7 Trap Music Kontakt Libraries 2024 (And Best Lo-Fi Kontakt Library)

Top 7 Trap Music Kontakt Libraries (And Best Lo-FI Library) | Integraudio.com

In the world of trap music, you can either follow the trend or set one, and these top 7 Kontakt libraries for trap music equip you for either.

This sub-genre of hip-hop has been around since the early 90s, but it’s been particularly favored nowadays, thanks to artists like Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, and many more. One of their secrets to winning the hearts of their fans lies in the masterful sound design.

While there are plenty of synth plugins helpful in sound designing, we rarely consider samplers like Kontakt a staple plugin for trap music. However, with Kontakt’s designable UI, third-party manufacturers, as well as Native Instruments themselves, have created a wide variety of instruments for trap music production. Let’s check them out.

Top 7 Trap Music Kontakt Libraries 2024

Under the Macros page, you can create parameters that you see on the main page (the first picture). You can assign names, which parameter the macro controls, and even the shape of the parameter’s curve. A square wave-like shape helps you create an “on-off” toggle for various effects.

Finally, the Settings page offers some general or global controls over the layers of the library. Legato mode is handy for creating 808 glides.

Key Features:

  • Snapshots

There are 150 snapshots or presets included in Cloud Supply. The presets are divided into eight categories: FX, Keys, Keysplits, Lead, Mallet, Organ, Pad, and Pluck. They are specifically designed to cover various styles, including trap, hip-hop, drill, grime, and RnB. Manipulating these snapshots is an excellent way to get started with sound designing.

  • Sound Editor

The Sound Editor has all of the controls for selecting and modifying sound sources. Adjust the tune, pan, and volume of the sound sources, apply lo-fi effects and filtering to each layer, and use modulators like envelope and LFO. You can edit each layer independently or use Layer Link to edit both simultaneously.

  • FX Editor

Cloud Supply includes a range of powerful effect processors and six FX slots that apply globally to both layers of the library. You’ll also find one EQ per layer. The global effects include reverb, delay, chorus, saturation, amp emulation, etc. Furthermore, you can change the order of the effects and save FX presets.

  • Sequencer

The analog-style sequencer in Cloud Supply is a nice reference to classic hardware like the Roland 808s. It features up to sixteen steps and six lanes for modulation. Other features include rate, direction, and swing, which control the timing and playback. And finally, you can apply the sequencer to either both the layers or only one of them.

Native Instruments - Cloud Supply [Trap VST Demo & Beat Creation]

Compatibility:

The library is available for Kontakt Player or Kontakt 6.2+, which works on Windows 7 and macOS 10.13 or higherboth 64-bit only. Kontakt comes in VST 2/3AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

If you already have trap drum samples and are only missing the melodic instruments, Cloud Supply will have you covered. Granted, the default sounds tend to sound mellow and hazy, but you can make them sound as gritty as you like with a bit of processing.

2. NI Pharlight (Vocal-Based Granular Instrument)

More Info & Price (Trial Available)

Yet another library by the makers of Kontakt, Pharlight is an unconventional pad sound generator, often used by cinematic composers.

Pharlight features a custom granular engine with an array of audio sources. The generated sounds are then routed through effect processors and modulators to create living-breathing soundscapes. Furthermore, it also features a sample layer that can add background noises, envelope attacks, tonal centering (for atonal soundscapes), and pads.

Top 7 Trap Music Kontakt Libraries 2024 (And Best Lo-Fi Kontakt Library) - 2024 Update

Key Features:

  • Customize

You can import wav, aif, and ncw files into Pharlight to use them as sound sources. You can use such files as either the source for the granular synth or as the sample waveform. Furthermore, Pharlight automatically detects the root key of the audio sample, making manipulating it easier than ever.

  • Grain

The Grain page controls the Grain Layer, which is basically a granular synth that chops up the sound source into small “grains” and plays them back, changing the order, stretching them, etc. You can control the grain size, interval, playing position, range, and tuning on this page. It also features an amp envelope.

  • Sample

The Sample page features the sample layer. It acts as a standard sampler, where you can import long sounds like vinyl crackles or even a short waveform. The page includes pitch controls, start offset, filters, filter envelope, and amp envelope.

  • Effects

Each of the layers I’ve mentioned above features a separate effect section on the Effects page. Furthermore, under the Master tab, you’ll also find effects that apply globally. The effects include reverb, delay, drive, tape saturation, guitar amps, tube distortion, and compressors. And finally, the Effect page contains an XY modulator, which is excellent for performing.

Compatibility:

The library is available for Kontakt Player or Kontakt 6.2+, which works on Windows 7 and macOS 10.13 or higherboth 64-bit only. Kontakt comes in VST 2/3AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

Other than using your own sounds, you can use the many vocal-based sound samples included with Pharlight. You’ll find presets for pads, textures, leads, and sound effects, with most of them utilizing the XY modulator. The sounds don’t just sound like choirs, though. So, you’ll also find sounds that sound synthetic yet somewhat organic.

3. Strezov Sampling – JADE Ethnic Orchestra (Ethnic Instrument 1)

More Info & Price

Jade Orchestra is a complete ethnic orchestral library featuring Chinese instruments and Mongolian singers.

The library has over fifty instruments with over a hundred patches, co-produced by Seth Tsui, a conductor. The instruments include bowed strings ensembles/solo, plucked strings, voices, woodwinds, percussion, and pad sounds.

And although the sounds are primarily from China, you’ll also find other Asian sounds like the Mongolian Longsong quartet, Moorin-Khuur, and the Japanese Shakuhachi.

Strezov Sampling - Top 7 Trap Music Kontakt Libraries (And Best Lo-Fi Kontakt Library) | Integraudio.com

Key Features:

  • True Legato

As with most instruments by Strezov Sampling, Jade Ethnic Orchestra also features excellent playability, thanks to its true legato recording and scripting. It allows you to play pieces with seamlessly connected notes that sound like real stringed instrument performance rather than a keyboard performance. Voice patches also feature true legato.

  • Articulations

Most of the stringed instruments feature a legato, tremolo, staccato, and pizzicato articulation. You can switch between them using key switches. Similarly, you’ll find bends, harmonics, and tremolo for plucked strings. And the voices feature a syllable builder for organic choir performance.

  • Mic Positions

Strezov Samplings recorded the instruments with three mic positions:  close, Decca, and hall. As you know, Decca Tree is the most common way to record orchestral instruments. It features three mics to capture the stereo feature as well as the middle sound. Other than the included chamber hall sound (from Sofia Session Studio), the library also features a variety of custom convolution reverb.

  • Detailed Recording

Besides what’s visible in the recording, like articulations and mic positions, Jade Ethnic Orchestra features deep round robins and multiple dynamic layers. They add to the instruments’ organic and natural feel.

Compatibility:

The library is available for Kontakt Player or Kontakt 5.7.1+, which works on Windows 7 and macOS 10.13 or higherboth 64-bit only. Kontakt comes in VST 2/3AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

Ethnic instruments add unique vibes to any kind of music, including trap. However, it’s easy to sound cheesy by using less detailed sample libraries. Jade Ethnic Orchestra provides a wide variety of instruments with expertly recorded and scripted samples that add authenticity to the performance. So, if you would like to have a unique voice in your music, try Jade out and see if it works for you.

4. Ethno World 6 Complete (Ethnic Instrument 2)

More Info & Price

Ethno World 6 is a collection of a large number of ethnic instruments, from strings and wind to mallets and percussion.

The library features well over 20 GB of samples covering 320 instruments and voices, with about 800 patches. The instruments also feature multiple articulations and dynamic ranges.

You’ll find a range of plucked and bowed strings, woodwinds, and drums/percussions. Another thing I love about this library is the quality of the real instruments themselves and the recording equipment themselves.

The company used Neumann and Brauner microphones, SPL preamps, and RME converters to record excellent branded instruments or true traditional instruments by select artisans. The large, two-meter gong, for example, is a product by Paiste.

Ethno World 6 Complete - Top 7 Trap Music Kontakt Libraries (And Best Lo-Fi Kontakt Library) | Integraudio.com

Key Features:

  • Variety

We’ve already been talking a lot about the variety of instruments in the library, but there’s even more to come. You’ll also find voices of the Chinese opera, Native American chants, Arabian, Indian, African choirs, and solo voices. These could be the perfect sounds to separate yourself from the rest of the artists in trap music.

  • Effects

The library has seven effect processors: compressor, saturator, 3-band EQ, delay, chorus, phaser, and reverb. The reverb is a convolution reverb with several excellent impulse responses. And the effects are detailed enough to be sufficient for mixing. The only thing missing is a filter.

  • Detailed Recording

While there is no true legato, the scripted legato makes the library sound excellent. Furthermore, the releases are natural releases, which add to the authenticity. Unfortunately, as the library has taken over a decade to develop, you’ll notice a lack of detail in some of the older samples.

  • IDB Database

The database is an information tab on the UI that gives you a short description of your chosen instrument. It includes the key switches, the instrument range, the performer’s name, and so on. As the library is vast, having a separate information section is an excellent touch.

Compatibility:

The library is available for Kontakt Player or Kontakt 5+, which works on Windows 7 and macOS 10.13 or higherboth 64-bit only. Kontakt comes in VST 2/3AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

Ethno World 6 is a masterpiece created with a passion by the film composer Marcel Barsotti. What started as a sampled library of instruments he’d previously collected went on to become one of the most comprehensive sources of ethnic flavor.

However, I must say that the library may be overly extensive for most trap musicians. Still, famous modern artists like KSHMR, although not a trap artist, have been found utilizing the library’s vast resources. To help you visualize just how vast the library is, here’s a video demonstrating its sounds:

5. Output Substance (Bass Engine)

More Info & Price

With Substance, gone are the days of layering multiple samples and synths to achieve your perfect low-end rumble.

Substance is a complete bass sound designing instrument featuring built-in samples of real-life acoustic instruments and dirty analog synth sounds. On the main page of the user interface, you will find a peculiar layout of three instrument layers, their controls, and macro faders that let you customize the sound quickly.

And you can also assign the macros to a MIDI CC to control them with your MIDI controller. You’ll find the power buttons to mute/enable the layers at the center of the layout. Moving out a step will lead you to the volume of each of the layers. Next, you can select various sound sources by clicking on the source name.

Outside of this section, you’ll see the category of the sound source you’ve chosen, and the logo represents the same. On the outer edge of the circular layout, you’ll find four macro faders, which differ based on the preset or your assignments.

Top 7 Trap Music Kontakt Libraries 2024 (And Best Lo-Fi Kontakt Library) - 2024 Update

Key Features:

  • Edit Page

You’ll find the three layers and their various controls on the Edit page. Each layer has a volume envelope, pan knob, stereo width control, tune/transpose, and sample start offset. Similarly, you can also enable monophonic/polyphonic mode and legato.

For further customization, you’ll find the key range, legato glide time, and velocity sensitivity in the Advanced tab at the bottom of the Edit page. These features are essential for creating 808-style gliding bass in electronic music, hip-hop, trap, etc.

  • Mixing

There are three pages dedicated to mixing in this library: EQ, Filter, and FX. The EQ page features a 3-band EQ per layer and one more for the global output. You can choose either shelf or peak mode for the low and high bands.

Similarly, the Filter page contains a multi-mode filter for each layer and a high-pass and low-pass filter for the global output. Furthermore, it also has a filter envelope. Next, you will find six effect processors per layer on the FX page.

These effects include distortion, motion (chorus/phaser/flanger), pitch, compressor, delay, and reverb. Similarly, the global FX section has distortion, compressor, delay, and reverb.

  • Rhythm Page

The Rhythm page contains a single LFO or a step-sequencer. When one of them is activated, you can start “sending” various parameters into the LFO/sequencer to modulate them. You can do so by using the upper half of the Rhythm page.

Here, you’ll find volume, bite, cutoff, and resonance under each layer. And you’ll also find high-pass cut and resonance, drive, tone, and low-pass cut and resonance under the Global Sends section. If you wish to modulate one of them, turn up or down the respective fader to make it modulate positively or negatively.

  • Arpeggiator

Substance has a built-in arpeggiator with twelve types of playback styles. These include pedal tone, up, down, up-down, down-up, random, chord (polyphonic), four zigzags, and as played. You can also use a step sequencer to control the velocity of each note in the arpeggio. Similarly, other controls include octave selection, gate, swing, rate, etc.

SUBSTANCE by Output - Walkthrough

Compatibility:

This library is available for Kontakt 5.8.1 (NOT free Kontakt Player). Kontakt requires Windows 7 or higher and macOS 10.12 or higher, both 64-bit only. It comes in VST 2/3, AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

Substance is a handy tool if you often make music with bass at the forefront like trap, hip-hop, and even house. Similarly, it features interesting acoustic basses, including low brass sections, contrabass pizzicato, bass guitars, etc.

When mixing these sounds with the electronic counterparts, I found the results excellent for sci-fi/action trailer music and film SFX design too. Furthermore, there are plenty of controls for customizing the presets.

That said, I would have loved to see a sample import feature that let me use custom sounds for mixing with the library’s samples. In a way, the lack of this feature defeats the library’s purpose, which is to help people avoid tedious sound layering.

However, the built-in sounds are perfectly adequate in most cases. Hence, I recommend you give it a try.

6. Sonuscore – The Orchestra Complete 2 (Orchestral Instruments)

More Info & Price

With this library, Sonuscore sought to create an orchestral instrument that makes writing orchestral compositions fast and easy.

The Orchestra 2 is an all-in-one library featuring every section of the orchestra in an unbelievably tiny file size of around 15 GB. In addition to the said library, the Complete bundle comes with two more instruments: Strings of Winter and Horns of Hell. As the names suggest, they add another string section and a brass section to the original library.

What makes The Orchestra 2 so enticing is that it takes away the work of complex orchestration and lets a beginner composer come up with professional-sounding pieces. And for the more experienced orchestrator, it makes your job easier and faster.

Sonuscore The Orchestra Complete 2 - Top 7 Trap Music Kontakt Libraries (And Best Lo-Fi Kontakt Library) | Integraudio.com

Key Features:

  • Articulations

Each instrument in The Orchestra features multiple articulations. The strings have legato, marcato, pizzicato, staccato, sustain, and tremolo. And the brass and woodwind instruments have the same articulations except for pizzicato and tremolo, of course.

You will find a much wider variety of articulation, instruments, and recording depth in the Strings of Winter and Horns of Hell libraries. Furthermore, both are loaded with ensemble multi and rhythm patches that present an array of emotional colors.

  • Performance

The Orchestra 2 instruments were recorded in Studio 22, Budapest, in their traditional seating position. The result is a library with instruments that fit together. Furthermore, the library features true legato samples, making the performance even smoother.

  • Ensemble Engine

The Orchestra 2’s engine features three arpeggiators and two envelopes. You can load up to five instruments at once and play them with the engine, instantly creating complex orchestrations by merely holding a chord. Note that the engine will not load with individual instrument patches.

  • Mixer

The library features a mixer page where you can control the volume, pan, and reverb send of each of the five instruments you have loaded. And there is a global EQ and a compressor.

Note that the effects are extremely minimalistic—the EQ only has two preset options, and the compressor has a threshold as the only notable parameter. Similarly, the reverb has ten impulse responses with no other controls.

Compatibility:

The library is available for Kontakt Player or Kontakt 6.2+, which works on Windows 7 and macOS 10.13 or higherboth 64-bit only. Kontakt comes in VST 2/3AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

I find The Orchestra 2 more of an instrument for fast-paced, cinematic music, which makes it a great fit for some style of modern hip-hop or dance music. And while it undoubtedly features some excellent patches that would make superb pad sounds, too, the price still may not feel justified. So, if your intention as a trap artist is to add unconventional elements into the genre, The Orchestra 2 could be an excellent choice.

7. Output Exhale (Vocal Engine)

More Info & Price

Exhale is a modern instrument that uses vocal recordings to create unique instruments and soundscapes.

The first step to sound designing in Exhale is to choose one out of three modes: notes, loops, and slices. Under each mode, you’ll find a large number of presets, totaling five hundred. Furthermore, the main page also features buttons to select the character of the preset you want, which makes finding a sound quicker and easier.

Before talking more about Exhale, I’d like to mention that Output Substance is also an excellent library for trap music. It’s a bass engine that makes creating powerful sub and rich basslines effortless.

Output Exhale - Top 7 Trap Music Kontakt Libraries (And Best Lo-Fi Kontakt Library) | Integraudio.com

Key Features:

  • Modes

As I’ve mentioned, we have three modes in the library. Notes mode takes a sample and maps it across the keyboard chromatically. Similarly, Loops mode brings 13 loops, each mapped across an octave, per preset.

And similar to the previous mode, the Slices mode features 13 sliced samples per preset, with each slice mapped across an octave. The latter lets you create creative, glitchy sounds.

  • Main Page

All of the preset selections happen on the Main Page, but it also features some automatable parameters. You’ll find four macro sliders, each with a different function depending on your selected preset.

  • Keys

You will also find the key signature of the preset you’ve selected at the top of the Main page. Clicking on it allows you to transpose the preset to another key. Furthermore, you can change the key from minor to major and vice versa.

  • Engine Page

The Engine page is divided into three panels: sources, rhythm, and effects. You can select the audio sample you’re using from the two Sources: A and B. Next, the rhythm panel lets you create rhythmic modulations using patterns, an LFO, or a step sequencer over “mod effects.” Let’s talk about that next.

  • Effects

First, “mod effects” include volume, pan, filter, phaser, talk, and saturate. You can modulate the parameters of these effects using the Rhythm panel on the Engine page. The other effects are the insert effects: pitch, dirt, motion, comp, tone, delay, and reverb.

Compatibility:

The library is available for Kontakt Player or Kontakt 5.8.1+, which works on Windows 7 and macOS 10.12 or higherboth 64-bit only. Kontakt comes in VST 2/3AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

A large number of presets makes Exhale enticing for sure. And its engine is quite versatile too. The sounds generated using this library are mostly either pad-like sounds or vocal loops and chops, both of which add life to any form of modern music.

1. Crypto Cipher – TERRY & BELLS

More Info & Download

Find an unusual collection of bells, guitars, and sound effects in this free Kontakt library by Crypto Cipher Audio Lab.

Terry & Bells is a library that is most useful for making melodies. Furthermore, the sound design patches could be helpful in creating rhythmic parts or adding exciting motions to your track. You’ll also find a demo project file, which shows what the library is capable of, made in Cubase along with the main download.

Crypto Cipher - TERRY & BELLS - The 4 Best Free Trap Kontakt Libraries | Integraudio.com

Key Features:

  • Solo Patches

There are two categories of solo patches: Elephant Bells and Guitar Patches. The bells include interesting articulations like rolls, bows, and clusters. Similarly, the guitar patches include tapping, percussive hits, other FX, and of course, plucking.

  • Sound Design Patches

These patches are mainly for adding moving elements and synthetic sounds to your music. Some of them are merely pads, bells, and plucks, but some are reversed sounds and arpeggios.

Compatibility:

The library is available for Kontakt 5.8.1+ (paid), which works on Windows 7 and macOS 10.12 or higherboth 64-bit only. Kontakt comes in VST 2/3AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

One can never have too many instruments for making melodies, and Elephant Bells sounds excellent when layered with keys and synths. And the guitar patches can provide a distinct vibe found nowhere else.

2. Soundethers – Free Fall

More Info & Download

This library is all about creating soundscapes.

Soundethers’ Free Fall is a collection of evolving sounds that work superbly to add a touch of smoky vibe on beats and even film scores. Each preset of Free Fall uses three layers, and the modulation wheel controls the complexity of the sound.

Soundethers Freefall - The 4 Best Free Trap Kontakt Libraries | Integraudio.com

Key Features:

  • Patches

Free Fall comes with 18 patches, each fully customizable via the library’s UI. They are essentially a collection of wave files and require about 173 MB of storage on your drive.

  • Engines

The Main Engine employs an amp envelope, a pitch envelope, a filter, and a filter envelope for sound designing. And the Effects Engine and Rhythm Engine allow you to add FX and modulation, respectively.

Compatibility:

The library is available for Kontakt 5.5.1+ (paid), which works on Windows 7 and macOS 10.11 or higherboth 64-bit only. Kontakt comes in VST 2/3AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

Skipping this library would be a huge missed opportunity if you often require soundscapes to make evolving and moving sounds in your songs. It’s ideal for chillout music, ambient music, scoring, and IDM. Also, try automating the CC 74 (high-pass filer), CC 71 (low-pass filter), and the modulation wheel (CC 1).

3. Trap Gods Kontakt Library

More Info & Download

Trap Gods is essentially a trap music producer’s survival toolkit.

The library features 66 high-quality instruments ranging from 808s, hats, and snares to bass, leads, pads, keys, etc. It takes up about 1.1 GB of storage. Unfortunately, customization of the sound is somewhat limited. So, I suggest using the library as a layer with other sounds.

Trap Gods Kontakt Library - The 4 Best Free Trap Kontakt Libraries | Integraudio.com

Key Features:

  • Effects

The library features a twang reverb, delay, chorus, and a filter. While it doesn’t feature any modulators like LFOs, you’ll find that even the presets by default are very much usable. That’s a reason why many producers love it.

  • ADSR Envelope

The library also has an amp envelope. I like using it to turn plucky sounds into pad-like textures, but you do need to use a better reverb to get quality pad sounds.

Compatibility:

The library is available for Kontakt 5.5.1+, which works on Windows 7 and macOS 10.11 or higherboth 64-bit only. Kontakt comes in VST 2/3AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

Trap Gods is an exciting collection of instruments with a variety of sounds. If you haven’t yet learned to design your own sounds or need some inspiration quickly, you should check this library out. I’m not a big fan of the drums in this library, but the rest are useful for sure.

Each layer features a section with Lo-Fi parameters. The sound sources pass through several effects that replicate the sound of vintage tapes, creating the Lo-Fi sound we all know and love.

Top 7 Trap Music Kontakt Libraries 2024 (And Best Lo-Fi Kontakt Library) - 2024 Update

Key Features:

  • Presets

The library features 125 custom sounds produced using analog hardware, hybrid sources, resampling, and processing. Loading different sounds in the two layers is the easiest way to tap into the large resource of sounds in Lo-Fi Glow.

  • Sound Editor

It’s the first page you’ll see in this library. Here, you can adjust the tuning, pan, and volume of the sound sources, apply lo-fi effects and filtering to each layer, and customize the modulation sources. The Lo-Fi effects include resampling, bit crush, noise, and color (low-pass).

  • FX Editor

Lo-Fi Glow employs six FX unit slots and gives you several effect processors. They include reverb, delay, chorus, dynamic effects, saturation, amp emulations, etc. Note that while each layer has an EQ, the effects are global.

  • Sequencer

You’ll find the sequencer under the SEQ tab. It has one lane for constructing a melodic sequence of up to sixteen steps and six more lanes for modulating each macro control. You can also change the velocity of the notes per step or set it to change relative to how you play.

Compatibility:

The library is available for Kontakt Player or Kontakt 6.2+, which works on Windows 7 and macOS 10.13 or higherboth 64-bit only. Kontakt comes in VST 2/3AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

Lo-Fi Glow is an excellent library featuring nostalgic sounds and balancing flexibility with ease. The macros allow quick modulation and customization, which is handy for live performance.

2. RED SOUNDS – Phat! 808 Engine (808 Library)

More Info & Price

The 808 is the very foundation of trap music, and getting it right is crucial.

Phat features 44 carefully crafted presets of 808 sounds that you can modify to taste. It uses a single wave sample of an 808 sound per preset under the hood. And the UI of the library gives you controls over the sampler’s necessary parameters without diving into Kontakt’s complex engine.

RED SOUNDS Phat! 808 Engine - Top 7 Trap Music Kontakt Libraries (And Best Lo-Fi Kontakt Library) | Integraudio.com

Key Features:

  • Manipulation

The library employs a low-pass and a high-pass filter. The latter is helpful if you want to create lead sounds out of the 808 samples. And the library also has a standard ADSR amp envelope. And finally, the Punch parameter lets you add a kick-like transient on your 808. It’s an excellent way to create rhythm without having to side-chain anything.

  • Performance

The library also features portamento or glide. Simply enable the legato mode, control the glide time, and you will have smooth pitch bends rolling around in no time. Other features include a drive parameter to add saturation and a compression knob.

Compatibility:

The library is available for Kontakt 5.5.1+ (paid), which works on Windows 7 and macOS 10.13 or higherboth 64-bit only. Kontakt comes in VST 2/3AU, and AAX formats.

Summary:

If you find it challenging to mix 808s with kicks or to make the 808s cut through the mix, Phat will take several steps away from your workflow. Thanks to a large number of presets and the fundamental controls, you can also sound as creative as you want.

Conclusion

When making a song, you could either stay faithful to the genre by using traditional sounds or introduce something fresh using unusual instruments. In this article, I’ve attempted to provide a variety of instruments that count as traditional trap instruments and some new ones that have huge potential to become fan favorites.

Hence, if you are after some standard trap instruments, I’d recommend NI Cloud Supply, Pharlight, and Substance. And the free Trap Gods is an excellent library as well. These can help you create productions on par with radio hits.

Conversely, if you enjoy experimenting, soundscapes and unusual instruments are great ways to bring in change. JADE Ethnic Orchestra is my particular choice for unconventional trap or hip-hop music. If you want a bigger library, go with Ethno World 6. And finally, Free Fall is a fantastic soundscape instrument available for free.
